Since 1975, Mid-Tennessee Bone & Joint Clinic has provided top-ranked orthopedic care to the people of middle Tennessee and beyond. With eleven orthopedic surgeons plus an interventional pain management specialist, they provide high-quality, comprehensive care for all of your family’s orthopedic needs.
Dr. Christopher Loftis, Dr. Carson Strickland, and Dr. Zachary Pharr are the three newest fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons to join MTBJ.
Dr. Christopher Loftis joined MTBJ in August as an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the shoulder and elbow with special interest in arthroscopic shoulder surgery and shoulder replacement. He grew up in Nashville and earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Harding University, and was selected to the Alphi Chi Collegiate Honors Society. He received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. His residency training was obtained at the University of Missouri Department of Orthopedic Surgery, where he served as Chief Resident, followed by a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Texas Education and Research Foundation for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. He helps provide team physician services to Marshall County schools.
Dr. Carson Strickland joined MTBJ in August as an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the foot and ankle with a focus on ankle replacement and ankle reconstruction. His undergraduate degrees of Biology and Psychology were obtained at the University of Georgia, and his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine, graduating in the top 1% of his class. He completed his orthopedic residency at UT-Campbell Clinic, followed by an additional fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the OrthoCarolina Foot and Ankle Institute in Charlotte, NC.
Dr. Zachary Pharr joined MTBJ in July 2021 as an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine with a focus on restoring active individuals with acute injuries through arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques. As a Nashville native, he received his degree in Biology from Lipscomb University. His medical degree was obtained from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, graduating top of his class with Alpha Omega Alpha honors and selected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society for compassionate care. He completed residency training at UT-Campbell Clinic, where he served as Chief Resident, followed by fellowship training at the American Sports Medicine Institute with Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center, where he served as a team physician for the University of Alabama 2020-2021 National Champion football team. He has treated athletes at all levels, from youth to professional, including the athletic programs of the University of Alabama, the University of Memphis, Memphis Redbirds, Birmingham Barons, and Memphis Grizzlies. He currently provides team physician coverage for multiple schools at the high school and college levels.
